After-school Drum Sessions

Beginning in February 2023, Marcus L. Miller and members of the Project World Drum ensemble will facilitate after-school drumming sessions for 4th-5th graders at the Figueroa Street School in the Watts area of Los Angeles, CA. Students will be instructed in both the West African and Afro-Latin styles of djembe & conga drumming respectively. The goal is to inspire the next generation of young people to carry on this drumming tradition that has been passed down for the past 1500 years.
